Barack Obama
He was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961. Graduated from Columbia University and in law from Harvard. In 1996, he was elected to the state Senate seat representing Hyde Park - the South Side that includes the university and some very poor neighborhoods. Obama helped change laws on the death penalty, ethics and racial profiling, and won tax credits for the working poor. But he failed in his campaign for universal health insurance. He was in office for eight years. In 2004 he was elected senator. Gaining national prominence, was elected in 2008 as the U.S. President.
Mitt Romney
Born in Michigan on March 12, 1947. He attended Harvard University. He was elected Governor of Massachusetts in 2002. He was pre-candidate of Republican Party for the 2008 election, but lost. But in 2012 succeeded and will now get to compete against Barack Obama trying reelection.
